5 Fun Spring Activities in Foster City

Spring is here! The sun is finally making an appearance after months of cold, foggy and rainy weather. With the weather getting warmer, it’s a great time to get out and enjoy the beautiful sights and activities in Foster City. Take a look at a few things you should be doing this spring.
Five Things to Do in Foster City This Spring:
- Go for a walk, run or bike ride on one of Foster City’s trails. You’ve got many choices if you’re in the mood for some exercise. The Levee Pedway is part of the San Francisco Bay Trail and runs along the west side of O’Neal Slough. It’s a scenic, flat trail that’s perfect for bicycling or a relaxing stroll. You can drive from your apartments in Foster City to the Levee Pedway in less than 10 minutes.
Another option is the Leo J. Ryan Memorial Park overlooking Central Lake with nearly 21 acres, including bike paths, a boat launch, basketball courts, picnic area and more.
- Check out the Foster City Farmers Market. Get fresh vegetables, fruit and other items on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Wednesday afternoons from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The market is at the Charter Square Shopping Center at 791 Beach Park Boulevard.
- Celebrate Holi, the Festival of Colors. This free, fun event is on Saturday, March 18 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Leo Ryan Park Meadow. Holi is an Indian festival where people throw colored powder at each other to celebrate spring and bring the community together. Activities will also include Indian music, dance and food. - See the classic Neil Simon farce “Rumors.” Regarded as one of Neil Simon’s funniest plays, “Rumors” is playing at the Hillbarn Theater at 1285 East Hillsdale Boulevard, Foster City, from March 9 to April 2. - Enjoy the free Jazz in the Library series of concerts. See live performances by a variety of bands playing different genres of jazz at the Foster City Library, 1000 East Hillsdale Boulevard. Concerts are on the following Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.: April 13, April 20, April 27, May 4 and May 11.
