5 Thanksgiving Leftover Recipes

November 15th, 2016

It is almost guaranteed that you will find yourself with leftovers after Thanksgiving. While it can be fun to heat up all the dishes and have a second holiday meal, you can only eat turkey and mashed potatoes so many times. Even turkey sandwiches – made with your perfectly roasted turkey – can become boring if you eat them enough.

Take advantage of these simple recipes to help you use your leftovers.

Use Up Your Leftovers With These 5 Recipes

1. Turkey and Corn Enchiladas

Healthy and delicious, turkey and corn enchiladas only takes a little corn and some spices of your choosing! They can definitely help you make a dent in your pile of turkey.

2. Day-After Turkey Soup

If you really want to use all of your leftovers, day-after turkey soup is the perfect recipe for you. It uses the carcass of the turkey to make a rich, full-flavored broth.

3. Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Turkey tetrazinni deluxe may not be the lightest meal on this list, but it is certainly fun to eat. Combining pasta, creamy and cheesy flavors, it is a full and satisfying dish that the family will love.

4. Stuffing Waffles

You will have a lot more leftovers than just turkey. These stuffing waffles let you use up some of that delicious stuffing that was so important for the holiday meal. Topped with turkey gravy and maple syrup, it is a savory and sweet dish that is both unique and surprisingly delicious.

5. Loaded Potato Soup

If you have leftover mashed potatoes, you can make up a soup that you may find yourself wanting more often than just in November. Loaded potato soup combines ham, green onion, chicken broth, sweet peas and herbs to create a meal in a bowl.

No Need To Waste Thanksgiving Leftovers

It’s unfortunate that families often throw out Thanksgiving leftovers when everyone gets sick of the same meal served night after night. Even the best tasting leftovers get old when you eat them enough.

Fortunately, you don’t have to waste anything if you get a little creative. Try out one or more of these recipes and discover just how easy it is to reinvigorate your holiday leftovers.

Our team here at The Plaza is excited to share these recipes with you. If you have any questions, or are interested in renting one of our Foster City apartments, please give us a call. We are more than happy to show you around and help you lease your next apartment home!

5 Fun Halloween Costume Ideas

October 14th, 2016

Halloween is a time for being creative, but when you leave your costume until the last minute it can feel like you’ll have to resort to a sheet over your head with some eyes punched in. If you stay in the apartments in Foster City, you’re going to have a lot of options when it comes to how to celebrate so try these fun costume ideas this year for a little more panache in your autumn step.

1. Themes

Go for a theme this year because it’s a good way to make a costume seem more ‘complete.’ As long as you can convince a friend or spouse to dress up with you, you can be the King and Queen of the party or the Peanut Butter and Jelly couple to the waiting trick-or-treaters.

2. Be a Referee

There’s nothing more fun than blowing the whistle to signal a party foul. When you see someone coming into the party with a lackluster costume, you can issue a warning on the spot. You can also blow the whistle if someone makes a bad joke or accidentally spills or breaks something!

3. Go Modern

Dress up as an iPhone or Google Maps this year. You can also be the Snapchat ghost, for a twist on a classic costume. Spoofing the big events of the year is a fun way to stay relevant and get more attention.

4. Be a Pun

This opens you up to a lot of possibilities. Have you ever thought about representing the word ‘misbehavior’? Put on a dress and a sash and go as Miss. Behavior, and then you can do whatever you want. Or dress up as Ms. Chief, and start causing a little trouble.

5. Honor Your Own Passions

Whether it’s a superhero, JK Rowling, baseball or your mother, pay some homage to the activities or people you love. It will not only have meaning for you, but could be a fun conversation starter if you happen to be introduced to a lot of people at a party.

The Plaza wants every holiday to be a hit this year, and we encourage you to check out our location if you’re looking for a new spot to live. Our Foster City apartments have the amenities you want, whether you’re throwing a party or just coming back from one. Call us today to find out more about our availability and what our community can offer you!

  • Visit The Veterinarian: Your veterinarian can check your cat and determine whether or not the aggression is related to a medical problem.
  • Take Precautions: You need to protect your loved ones and other pets, so supervise, confine or restrict your cat’s activities until you can get him professional help. T
  • Do Not Handle: Do not try to handle an aggressive or fearful cat, as you could wind up with scratches or bites.
  • Do Not Punish: Your cat’s aggression could be a result of fear, and punishing him may only strengthen that fear. This could result in your cat becoming more aggressive.
  • Seek Professional Help: Contact an animal behavior specialist to work with you and help solve the aggression problem.

You can discuss this problem with other pet-owners by posting on our Plaza Luxury Apartments Facebook page.
