Finding parking is a chore that strikes fear into the hearts of anyone who has spent much time in the Bay Area. Everyone needs to do it, and there never seems to be enough.

Fortunately, The Plaza is proud to say that our Foster City apartments with assigned, covered parking and ample guest parking offer an easy solution.

Here’s what you should know about our parking options:

  • Where is the visitor parking located? Visitor parking is located on the second level of the parking garage and is easily accessible from the north side of the structure.
  • What should I do if my neighbor has parked in my spot? You should notify the office during business hours. After hours, please proceed by calling the Courtesy Patrol at 1-877-884-7877. In the interim, feel free to use visitor parking in lieu of your assigned spot.
  • Can I wash my car anywhere in the community? Residents may not wash their vehicles at The Plaza due to both safety and environmental concerns (but Foster City Touchless Car Wash is right down the road).

Our LEED-certified apartments in Foster City provide you with a healthy habitat to live. You can take other steps to make your apartment a more non-toxic environment by following these tips.

  1. Get rid of the vinyl in your bathroom by using shower curtains made of more eco-friendly materials.
  2. When it’s time to clean, make sure you are using non-toxic cleaning agents in your apartment. The chemicals found in many cleaning products can be extremely harmful to your health.
  3. Give your makeup a makeover, and evaluate the beauty products you’re using. Some are very unhealthy for you, and you can find plenty of safer and greener alternatives by using sites like Skin Deep.

LEED certification is becoming more important in the buildings we work in and the homes we live in. When a property is LEED-certified, that means it meets certain standards and qualifications to be considered an environmentally-friendly structure.

Protect Your Carpeting and Go Green with a No-Shoes Policy

April 8th, 2014

There is nothing quite like the feeling of taking your shoes off at the end of a long day and allowing your toes to sink deeply into your apartment’s designer-selected, cut pile carpeting. That’s why it’s important to protect your carpet and do everything you can to keep it in the best condition possible.

The Plaza

The easiest way to do this is to simply take your shoes off when you get home and leave them by the front door. This will help keep your carpets cleaner by reducing the amount of dust and debris that you track in, and it will reduce the overall wear and tear that shoes can cause.

It also reduces the amount of pollen and toxins introduced into your home. By taking your shoes off at the door, you won’t be depositing them into the carpet fibers and won’t have to worry about them getting stirred up in the future. Plus, it also means you won’t have to vacuum as frequently.

For more information about your apartment’s designer-selected, cut pile carpeting and the other features we offer our residents at The Plaza, contact us, and we will be happy to give you all of the details.
